Data Deletion

How to delete your data

Last updated: October 23, 2026

This page explains how to permanently delete the data that AR Inbox stores on your behalf. Meta requires every app that uses Facebook Login or the WhatsApp Cloud API to publish such instructions; you can use either the self-service flow or the manual request form below.

1. What gets deleted

• Your user account (email, password hash, role, login history).
• All WhatsApp Business Accounts (WABAs) connected by your merchant, including encrypted access tokens, webhook verify tokens, and phone-number metadata.
• Every conversation, message, message status, and contact record scoped to your merchant.
• All wallet ledger entries, recharge requests, and Razorpay order references for your merchant. (Note: tax law may require us to retain anonymised, aggregate financial records for up to 7 years; personal identifiers are stripped.)
• Operator API tokens (Laravel Sanctum personal access tokens) and active session cookies.

Deletion is irreversible. Once your data has been removed we cannot recover it.

2. Self-service deletion (single user)

If you only want to delete your own user account from a merchant:

1. Log into AR Inbox at https://inbox.appringer.co.in/login.
2. Open your profile menu (top-right) → My account.
3. Click Delete account and confirm with your password.
4. You will be logged out immediately. Your record is purged from our database within 24 hours.

3. Full merchant deletion (admin)

To delete an entire merchant business (all users, WABAs, conversations, wallet history):

1. Sign in as the merchant's merchant_admin role.
2. Go to Settings → Merchant → Danger zone.
3. Click Delete merchant permanently and confirm by typing your business name.
4. You will receive a confirmation email; deletion is queued for processing within 24 hours.

4. Manual request (no longer have access)

If you have lost access to your account or need us to delete data on your behalf, send an email to hello@appringer.com with the subject line "Data deletion request" and include:

• The email address you signed up with.
• The name of your merchant business as it appears in the dashboard, and your WhatsApp Business Account ID (waba_id) if known.
• A short statement confirming you are the account owner or are authorised to act on its behalf.

We will verify your identity (typically by emailing a confirmation link to the address of record), then process the deletion within 30 days as required by applicable data protection law. You will receive an email confirmation when deletion is complete.

5. Deleting your Facebook / WhatsApp permission grant

Deleting data from AR Inbox does not automatically revoke the Embedded Signup permission your business granted to the AR Inbox Meta App. To revoke that grant:

1. Open Meta Business Manager → Business apps.
2. Find AR Inbox in the list of connected apps.
3. Click Remove to revoke our access to your WABA.

Once revoked, we can no longer send or receive WhatsApp messages for your business even if you have not also deleted your AR Inbox merchant.

6. Backups

Encrypted backups may retain deleted records for up to 30 days for disaster-recovery purposes. After that window, the backup is rotated and your data is no longer recoverable from any AR Inbox system.
